Memorials are designed to inspire action and to remember important people and events. Pick an important story, event or person from your community that needs to be honored and remembered.
Take this challenge & become a community leader! Sketch ideas and create a model for the community memorial, as was done for the Crazy Horse Memorial. Then work with others in your community to raise awareness. You may want to create brochures or even a television advertisement, which can help to raise money. Once your memorial is built, you can plan and create a dedication ceremony to honor the person, event, or value that the community holds dear. Some tips to design your dedication ceremony include: identifying presenters, music or art, food, guest list and location, etc.
